Introducing The Pitch Place for Editors
Looking for the perfect pitch? Look no further!
Hello editors!
Welcome to The Pitch Place - I’m so happy you’re here!
As a freelancer, I see a lot of calls for pitches from editors. I also see the 4982293048 comments from people saying they’re sending a DM or an email. I can’t imagine what your inbox looks like!
I hope that The Pitch Place can streamline your process a bit.
Here’s the deal - freelance writers fill out a form with information about their article idea (title, description, and good fit publications). All of the pitches are compiled on a spreadsheet that you can search to find the pitch your need.
For instance, if you’re looking for a pitch about house plants, you can head to the sheet and do ctrl + F “house plants.” You can also search the name of your publication or even the name of a freelancer if you have one you’ve worked with in the past and see what comes up.
[If you’re a freelancer, head to The Pitch Place for Freelancers to see how to submit a pitch and get access to the submission form.]
So without further ado, here’s the link to The Pitch Place Editor Sign Up form. After you sign up, you’ll be able to request access to the pitch database on the confirmation page: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSes7qlS8QqdLngIsYTQOweEmpinOp8Xx5i-zjGIPzgLFJ1EAA/viewform?usp=sharing
Because this is a project in progress, please be patient as freelancers add their pitches!
If you see a pitch you love, all you have to do is reach out to the writer directly via email and go from there. When you accept a pitch, shoot me an email saying what the pitch was. From the drop down menu on the left, I’ll mark “pitch accepted through The Pitch Place,” so other editors know not to reach out about it.
Don’t hesitate to reach out with any comments, questions, or suggestions! I want to make this as valuable as I can for everyone, and I’m so excited to see where it goes!
