Introducing Placed for Editors
Looking for the perfect pitch? Look no further!
Hello editors!
Welcome to Placed - I’m so happy you’re here!
As a freelancer, I see a lot of calls for pitches from editors. I also see the 4982293048 comments from people saying they’re sending a DM or an email. I can’t imagine what your inbox looks like!
I hope that Placed can streamline your process a bit.
Here’s the deal - freelance writers fill out a form with information about their article idea (title, description, and good fit publications). All of the pitches are compiled on a spreadsheet that you can search to find the pitch your need.
In the editor view, you’ll be able to see the Freelance Form which is where freelancers submit their pitches, but you’ll also be able to click on the Pitch Database where you’ll find all of the pitches.
For instance, if you’re looking for a pitch about house plants, you can search by clicking the magnifying glass in the upper right corner and typing “house plants,” and the pitches that include those keywords will pop up. You can also search the name of your publication or even the name of a freelancer if you have one you’ve worked with in the past and see what comes up.
[If you’re a freelancer, head to Placed for Freelancers to see how to submit a pitch and get access to the submission form.]
So without further ado, here’s the link to Placed Editor Sign Up form. After you sign up, I’ll send you an email with the link to the database!
If you see a pitch you love, all you have to do is reach out to the writer directly via email and go from there. When you accept a pitch, shoot me an email saying what the pitch was. From the drop down menu on the left, I’ll mark “pitch accepted through Placed,” so other editors know not to reach out about it.
Don’t hesitate to reach out with any comments, questions, or suggestions! I want to make this as valuable as I can for everyone, and I’m so excited to see where it goes!
