Placed is officially live, and I'm so excited for you to check it out!
I announced Placed in itβs first iteration β The Pitch Place β back in January, and the response was incredible. It was clear that thereβs a need to connect writers with editors, but the first version of the Pitch Database wasnβt successful in connecting the two sides. (Donβt worry, all of the pitches are still safe and sound and will be integrated into the platform at some point.)
So, Iβve been diligently working behind the scenes to figure out how to create a platform could benefit writers and editors.
We all know that the pitching process is chaotic and messy, and Placed is here to fix that! This is where editors and writers can come together to streamline the pitching process, keeping communication in one central hub rather than scattered across inboxes and DMs.
In building Placed, I was able to talk with some editors that had some amazing insights into their side of the process, and I came to realize that they need a way to organize the pitches that flood their inbox. Placed offers a way for editors to post Calls for Pitches and allows writers to respond directly to those calls, creating better organization. Editors can also message writers directly from their pitch which will help streamline communication.
After a failed attempt to build the platform from scratch (what do you mean that I donβt know how to build a website?!?), I decided to go with a platform that allowed me to create a community to bring writers and editors together in a shared space.
Access to Calls for Pitches is free for both editors (to post) and writers (to pitch), but I also included a plan with some more features to facilitate connections.
