I remember writing this one. It’s a little all over the place, so if you want to see more of this rambling nonsense style, let me know!
I almost decided not to write a newsletter this week, but after writing one every week for the last 24 weeks, I figured I'd better keep at it. To be honest, I'm not sure where this is going to end up. Let's go!

Consistency is important, and I know that's been the biggest contributor to being a freelancer. I get up nearly every morning and work. Some days I'm very tired. Other days I'm sick. Many more days I feel great and am excited about being able to do it all.
Knowing that things are transitory (is that the right word?) is also important. A friend of mine just had a baby, and she said that she's doing a better job this time taking things in stride and knowing that there is an end to the sleepless nights, diaper changes, and feedings. I did a good job with this with my third because I knew she was our last, and I try and take that mentality into other parts of my life.
This morning I woke up at 3:30 to finish an article that was due today. Then my daughter had a fever and my mother-in-law came over so I could keep my 8:00 facial appointment (it was $10 at the local tech school salon!). I came home and ended up taking two naps on the couch, but I also made two suppers (one that was already planned and then soup for the daughter with the fever), played Guess Who?, searched for Legos, and was generally present (I did check emails and play a little Travel Town).
I'm very tired now, but I'm going to work for a half hour, so I don't get backed up this week. My husband and I might also eat popcorn and watch Cheers.
I guess the point that my sleepy brain is trying to make is that we only get to do this once, and there's a lot that we can pack into a day and accomplish. And there will be days where we don't accomplish anything, and that's ok too. It's ok to be tired and push through or be tired and take a nap.
If you have any rambling, random thoughts that you need to get out into the world, feel free to send them my way!
If you have any questions about freelancing, work/life balance, morning routines, or anything else, I’d love to help out!
I'm trying very hard to take things in stride more too. It's tough though!
Read this after waking up from my afternoon nap!
